Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference
Our state-of-the-art Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference (EMC) test laboratory includes both 10m and 3m semi-anechoic chambers, conducted emissions testing systems, and other immunity testing systems including ESD.
Emissions Testing
EMC emissions testing measures the electromagnetic energy unintentionally emitted by a device. Regulatory limits exist to ensure that electronic products do not interfere with other devices or radio services. CTS tests both conducted emissions (energy coupled onto power lines) and radiated emissions (energy broadcast through the air).
Immunity Testing
Immunity testing verifies that a product continues to operate correctly when exposed to electromagnetic disturbances. CTS performs immunity testing to IEC and EN standards including ESD (electrostatic discharge), radiated immunity, conducted immunity, and surge testing.
Pre-Compliance Testing
Pre-compliance testing identifies potential emissions or immunity issues before formal certification testing. Early identification of problems reduces cost and schedule risk. CTS offers pre-compliance testing on prototypes and pre-production units to help manufacturers optimize their designs before committing to full regulatory testing.
Standards Covered
CTS performs EMC testing to FCC Part 15, CISPR 32 / EN 55032, CISPR 22 / EN 55022, EN 55035, IEC 61000 series, and other applicable standards. We test to both US and EU requirements in a single engagement where applicable, reducing total certification cost and timeline.
